These terms govern your use of the Steward app and this website. By creating an account you agree to them.
Who we are
Steward is operated by Union Steward Works Inc., a Delaware corporation. Steward is an independent product. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting on behalf of any labor organization, employer, contractor association, or benefit fund.
Your account
You must be at least 16 years old to use Steward. Keep your login credentials to yourself, give us accurate information, and let us know if you think someone else has access to your account. You are responsible for what happens under it.
What Steward is, and what it isn't
Steward reads documents you upload and compares the figures in them against each other and against the agreement and rate information on file. It is an informational tool.
Steward is not legal advice, tax advice, financial advice, or a determination of your benefit eligibility. It does not create or alter any right you have under a collective bargaining agreement, a plan document, or the law. Only your fund's trustees and administrators can determine your eligibility and your benefits, and only your union and its counsel can advise you on your rights under your agreement.
A flag in Steward means two records disagree. It is not proof that anyone made an error or withheld anything. Before you act on it, confirm it with the fund office, your payroll department, your training coordinator, or your business representative.
We work to read documents accurately, but optical character recognition and automated comparison make mistakes. You are responsible for verifying anything you rely on.
Your content
The documents you upload remain yours. You grant us the limited right to store and process them in order to provide the service to you, as described in the privacy policy. You confirm you have the right to upload what you upload.
Acceptable use
Don't upload anyone else's records without their permission. Don't use Steward to harass anyone, to break the law, to interfere with the service, or to attempt to access accounts that aren't yours. Don't resell or redistribute the service without our written agreement.
Availability and changes
Steward is in active development, and features may change or be withdrawn. We may suspend or end your access if you breach these terms or if we discontinue the service. You may stop using Steward and close your account at any time by writing to support@steward.trade.
Disclaimers and limits
The service is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or accuracy. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Union Steward Works Inc. is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any lost benefits, lost wages, or lost eligibility arising from your use of or reliance on the service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service will not exceed one hundred dollars or the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, whichever is greater. Some jurisdictions do not allow these limitations, in which case they apply to the extent permitted.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules, and any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts located in California.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If a change is significant we will update the date above and notify you in the app or by email before it takes effect.
